Srinagar, Mar 17: A militant was killed in an ongoing encounter in north Kashmir’s Kupwara district on Monday, reports said.
As per reports a militant was killed in the ongoing gunfight in the Krumbhoora area of Zachaldara Rajwar in Kupwara district. Other reports suggested that an AK-47 rifle and other ammunition has been recovered from the possession of the slain militant.
A police spokesman said that the encounter broke out after the police and security forces launched a search operation in the area following a specific input.
He said the hiding militants fired upon security forces which retaliated, triggering an encounter. Further details are awaited.
