Jammu : Police in Jammu on Sunday said that in a relentless pursuit against drug peddlers, Jammu Police, under the ongoing operation “Sanjeevani,” achieved a significant breakthrough in the Narwal area of Jammu district.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu, Police said that on March 15, 2025, a team from Police Station Trikuta Nagar, during patrolling, apprehended two accused from different locations in Narwal and recovered a total of 64 grams of heroin-like substance. The accused were identified as: Harpreet Singh, S/O Kehar Singh, R/O Preet Nagar, Digiana, Jammu – 54 grams of heroin recovered and Zahoor Ali, S/O Noor Hussain, R/O Ragoora, Jammu – 8 grams of heroin recovered. The police team’s swift and diligent action led to the arrest of both accused, marking a decisive step in curbing drug trafficking in the area. In this connection, two FIRs—FIR No. 85/2025 and FIR No. 86/2025 under sections 8/21/22 of the NDPS Act—have been registered at Police Station Bahu Fort. The operation was meticulously planned and executed by SHO Trikuta Nagar, Incharge PP Narwal, and Incharge PP Bhatindi, under the close supervision of SDPO City East and SP South.
Senior Superintendent of Police, Jammu has reiterated the department’s firm commitment to eliminating the menace of drug abuse from the district. He also emphasized the need for community support in tackling this growing social issue. Jammu Police has in its statement appealed people to remain vigilant against drug-related activities and report any suspicious movement to law enforcement authorities.
