“Lt Governor has already ordered an investigation into the recent mysterious deaths but the reports about missing of two more boys also deserve an immediate attention and intervention of the Lt Governor.”

The security situation in Kathua district of Jammu region unfortunately seems to be far from normal as the disappearance of two more boys has created chaos among the people after the recent mysterious deaths in the district. While none else than Union Home Secretary reviewed the security situation at a high level meet in Jammu immediately after recent mysterious deaths and days before the disappearance of two more boys from the same district, the re-occurrence of security related incidents deserves and demands immediate attention of Lt Governor Manoj Sinha under whose leadership normalcy has been restored in Kashmir Valley after decades of militancy related violence and violent street protests. Lt Governor has already ordered an investigation into the recent mysterious deaths but the reports about missing of two more boys also deserve an immediate attention and intervention of the Lt Governor.  Fast tracking the investigation into the recent mysterious deaths and stopping occurrence and re-occurrence of disturbing law & order incidents through a more strong vigil over the activities of miscreants is the only way to imbibe a sense of security among the people not only in Kathua district but in the entire Jammu region. Probe into mysterious deaths ordered by the Lt Governor is really quite satisfying for the local populations in Kathua district as even Chief Minister Omar Abdullah has appealed people to keep calm till the probe is completed and perpetrators of the recent incidents are punished but the occurrence and re-occurrence of law and order disturbance like the missing of two more boys are the cause of security concerns in entire Jammu region. The disappearances after recent mysterious deaths are spreading fears about stability in the security situation in entire Jammu region.

“Better if police takes care of its operational activities in cooperation with other security agencies and local MLAs facilitate weekly community meetings between the police and the people in the areas from where the recent mysterious deaths and missing of two more boys have been reported. Wisdom demands that better to leave matters of security to the public functionaries who established peace in Kashmir after decades of violence and maintained it in Jammu region to the complete satisfaction of  both the political class and as well as the local populations.”

Now it is for the Police in Jammu region to take stock of its operational activities for the purposes of removing the fears of instability among the people in entire Jammu region particularly in Kathua district. After all peace is party established through operational activities and partly through a strong public contact system better facilitated by local MLAs and civil society groups. So better if police takes care of its operational activities in cooperation with other security agencies and local MLAs facilitate weekly community meetings between the police and the people in the areas from where the recent mysterious deaths and missing of two more boys have been reported. Wisdom demands that better to leave matters of security to the public functionaries who established peace in Kashmir after decades of violence and maintained it in Jammu region to the complete satisfaction of  both the political class and as well as the local populations.
