DC Kulgam reviews progress of works under JJM

DC directs functional audit of all completed schemes; directs service facilitation among different Deptts

Kulgam : In order to take stock of progress achieved under Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) in the district, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Tuesday chaired a meeting of concerned officers of the Jal Shakti Department at mini-secretariat, here.
During the meeting, DC reviewed both the physical and financial progress of the works being executed under the Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
The S.E Hydraulic Circle Anantnag gave a detailed brief of all the works under execution under Jal Jeevan Mission in the district.
It was informed that under the JJM, the district has a total of 143 schemes encompassing 219 works, with 149 works already completed till date.
Emphasizing the importance of JJM as a flagship program aimed at covering all households, officers were instructed to work in coordination to ensure the smooth execution of JJM works in their respective areas by the DC.
The chair was apprised of various issues regarding testing and commissioning of Rapid Sand Filtration Plants of different water supply schemes.
It was given out that water supply schemes including Boh-Dragdan, Parigam, Ahmadabad and Shalipora Tarigam are to be made functional before the end of this financial year.
The DC instructed the concerned to ensure timely completion and target achievement under Jal Jeevan Mission.
He emphasized on the functional audit of all completed schemes, besides sought service facilitation among the different agencies completing the schemes.
The meeting was attended by ADDC, Altaf Ahmad; SE PHE Mechanical Anantnag, Executive Engineers of Jal Shakti Kulgam, Qazigund, Ground Water Div, Mechanical, KPDCL, Quality Control & Procurement, CEO, AEEs and other officers.
