Ganderbal: Deputy Commissioner (DC) Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore, distributed lighting units among the weavers of Ganderbal during a special program held at the Auditorium of Degree College, Ganderbal.
The initiative, implemented in Outside Cluster Development Program (OCDP) under the National Handloom Development Program (NHDP), was organized by Weavers Service Centre, Office of Development Commissioner for Handlooms, Ministry of Textiles, Government of India, Srinagar in collaboration with the office of Assistant Director, Handloom Development Department, Ganderbal.
Speaking on the occasion, the DC termed the initiative as a significant step [ Units were handed over to 139 beneficiaries of District Ganderbal. Weaver community of the district was also briefed about the various other schemes being implemented by the Central as well as the State department for the upliftment of Handloom sector in the area during the program.
