DC reviews implementation of Swachh Bharat Mission in Kishtwar Distt

Kishtwar : In a bid to review the ongoing progress of the Swachh Bharat Mission (SBM) under Swachh Survekshan 2024, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan convened a multi-departmental meeting.
During the meeting, the DC issued a series of directives aimed at improving sanitation services and ensuring better implementation across the district.
He instructed the EO Municipality to ensure the proper functionality of toilets, enhance sanitation awareness, and implement night shifts for sanitation workers.
The DC emphasized the importance of providing necessary equipment to sanitary workers and raising awareness among shopkeepers and sanitation staff in the town. Furthermore, the DC stressed the importance of solid waste management in collaboration with the Rural Development Department (RDD).
He also directed the Assistant Commissioner Development (ACD) and Block Development Officers (BDOs) to ensure the functionality of toilets in all blocks of the district.
The DC also stressed on maintenance of the Community Sanitary Complexes (CSCs) in all blocks, ensuring these facilities are fully operational with all essential amenities.
The meeting was attended by ACD Phulail Singh, EO Municipality Mirza Mumtaz Iqbal, BDO Sanjeev Kotwal and other senior officers and staff members.
