The meeting addressed several vital topics, including the establishment of new cooperative societies in underserved areas, the world’s largest grain storage initiatives, and the organization of awareness camps and training sessions as part of the International Year of Cooperatives. Additional discussions focused on micro food processing units, Reconciliation PACs, and the status of elections for cooperative societies.
This meeting served as an essential platform for stakeholders to strategize on the formation and enhancement of new cooperative societies. The emphasis was placed on building a robust network of cooperatives to stimulate economic growth, promote self-sufficiency, and ensure equitable development within Poonch district.
Deputy Commissioner Vikas Kundal directed the acceleration of pending construction work on cooperative super bazaars to benefit the local community promptly. He further directed the HOD to organize a mega event in Poonch to celebrate the International Year of Cooperatives, highlighting the significance of cooperative development.
In his remarks, the Deputy Commissioner emphasized the need to support farmers’ producer organizations to enhance agricultural productivity and improve the welfare of farmers in the region.
