Govt focused on transforming J&K into an educational hub: LG Manoj Sinha in assembly

In his address to the Legislative Assembly, Manoj Sinha said that the government was upgrading schools with Atal Tinkering Laboratories to foster inclusivity and empowerment.

Srinagar, March 03: Lieutenant Governor, Jammu and Kashmir, Manoj Sinha on Monday said that the government was focused on transforming J&K into an educational hub.Jammu and Kashmir travel guide
In his address to the Legislative Assembly, Manoj Sinha said that the government was upgrading schools with Atal Tinkering Laboratories to foster inclusivity and empowerment.
“In order to enhance teaching centres and improve educators, my government is prioritising capacity building programs for educators ensuring effective learning in schools,” he said.
He said that steps were made to make improvements in educational institutions and track attendance of teachers.
“My government is committed to strengthening the infrastructure of colleges and universities while ensuring adequate facilities to enhance the quality of higher education,” he said.
The LG, in his address, said that in line with National Education Policy (NEP ) 2020 digital infrastructure will be placed in higher educational institutions for advancement in Research and Development of students and the faculty.
“Additionally innovations, incubations and entrepreneurs will be actively encouraged to foster the culture of Start-ups among the students and to equip them with skills to drive growth and self-reliance,” said Sinha.
He said that the administration was focusing on transforming Jammu and Kashmir into an educational hub with strategic investments in the Higher Education sector.Jammu and Kashmir travel guide
“IIT and IIM Jammu are now operational and Jammu University has retained A++ NAAC grade while Islamic University of Science and Technology (IUST) leads in skill development and innovation,” he said.
LG said the faculty from University of Kashmir (KU) were recognised among the top two percent of global scientists. “The institutions like cluster University of Jammu and IUST are contributing towards high end research and are securing patents as well,” said LG Sinha.
