Waripora Link Road in Critical Condition as Bund Collapses, Poses Threat to Residents

Srinagar: The link road towards Waripora in Dangiwacha in Baramulla district has deteriorated to a critical state after the retaining wall (bund) collapsed, putting both commuters and local residents at risk. The damaged bund near the house of Gh. Ahmad Malik (House No. 1) has left the road vulnerable to collapse, raising fears of potential damage to houses and vehicles.
Locals have expressed concern that if vehicles continue to pass through the weakened stretch, the road could give way, causing severe consequences. They have urged authorities to take immediate action to prevent any mishap.
Additionally, a local stream flows near the affected area, further threatening the stability of the road. Residents warn that if timely repairs are not undertaken, the erosion could spread, endangering the entire neighborhood. The people of Waripora have appealed to the concerned authorities to reinforce the damaged bund and restore the road before the situation worsens.
