Jammu : President , Peoples Democratic Front (PDF) and former Minister Hakeem Muhammad Yaseen has greeted people on the auspicious occasion of Maha Shivratri, which is celebrated by Kashmiri Pandits as Hairath.
In his felicitation message, Hakeem said that this festival symbolizes the values of piety, devotion, brotherhood and harmony, which are the hallmarks of our centuries old cultural ethos. Wishing the people of Jammu and Kashmir especially pandit brethren , a happy Maha Shivratri and Hairath, Hakeem prayed for peace, progress and prosperity in the State.
” May this auspicious occasion prove harbinger of a new era of peace, progress and development , Hakeem observed adding that the festival of Maha Shivratri has both religious as well as cultural importance as the day is celebrated by the people of all shades of belief in the State with ferver and enthusiasm. The PDF President said that the conception of kashmiriyat was incomplete with the inclusion of Kashmiri pandit community adding that their vacuum was being felt eagerly by the majority community. He said Kashmiri people were yearning for return of the Kashmiri pandits with due honour and dignity.
