Athar Amir Khan kick starts “Clean Kulgam, Green Kulgam” campaign

Kulgam : In an inspiring move to protect the environment, District Administration Kulgam in collaboration with the Municipal Council launches the “Clean Kulgam, Green Kulgam” awareness drive here at the conference hall of Mini-Secretariat.
The initiative kick started by Deputy Commissioner Kulgam, Athar Amir Khan, aims to clean up local waterbodies and raise awareness about the urgent need to protect these crucial natural resources from pollution.
The campaign kicked off with an energetic cleanup drive, where volunteers and municipal authorities joined forces to remove waste from the region’s water bodies. The event also aimed to educate the community on the harmful effects of pollution on aquatic ecosystems and the critical importance of preserving them.
Deputy Commissioner while speaking at the event emphasized the significance of collective action for environmental conservation.
“Our waterbodies are vital to our ecosystem so it is essential that we unite to prevent the further pollution of these resources”, he said and added that the initiative is just the start of a larger movement to ensure a cleaner and greener future for our nation.
“As a individual we owe the responsibility of keeping the surroundings neat and clean”, he stated.
Executive Officer MC Kulgam Zahid Sajjad, expressed the governments unwavering support for such environmentally focused efforts.
The residents of Kulgam have been encouraged to actively take part in the ongoing cleanup efforts and spread the message of environmental responsibility.
The “Go Green Nation, Waste-Free India” initiative calls on people across the region to work together for a cleaner, greener future for Kulgam and the country as a whole.
Earlier the Yaad Gaar art and music theater performed a skit depicting the importance of keeping our waterbodies pollution free.
At the conclusion of the awareness programme, the different people were awarded with mementos and appriciation certificates for remarkable work in making environment pollution free.
Among other, the programme was attended by ACR Mushtaq Ahmad Lone, Sanitation Officers & workers of MC, Civil Society members and school children.
