Career Prospects in Biotechnology, Biochemistry & Microbiology: GCW Parade hosts awareness Lecture

Jammu: The Department of Biotechnology, Government College for Women, Parade Ground, in collaboration with the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, organized an awareness lecture on Career Prospects in Biotechnology, Biochemistry & Microbiology on Monday. The event aimed to provide students with a comprehensive understanding of career opportunities in these rapidly evolving fields.
The interactive session was led by Dr. Ankit Mahajan and Dr. Sheetal Ambardar– Assistant Professors at the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu. The speakers engaged with students, offering in-depth insights into career pathways in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. The lecture provided valuable guidance on higher education opportunities, research prospects, and industry-oriented careers in these disciplines.
A significant focus of the session was on the upcoming Graduate Aptitude Test of Biotechnology (GAT-B). The students were encouraged to appear for this national-level examination, which offers successful candidates a scholarship of Rs 5000 per month upon securing admission to M.Sc. Biotechnology programs in selected universities across India. The session also highlighted the state-of-the-art infrastructure, faculty expertise, and academic achievements of the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu.
The College Principal Dr. Ravender Tickoo hailed the initiative taken by the School of Biotechnology, University of Jammu, in disseminating crucial information about career prospects in these game-changing scientific fields. He also commended the engaging and informative presentations by Dr. Ankit Mahajan and Dr. Sheetal Ambardar. Furthermore, he lauded the Department of Biotechnology for organizing such a relevant and insightful event for students.
The organizing team included Kaurab Singh, Tishu Devi, Dr. Tariq and Shriya, faculty members from the Department of Biotechnology. Their collective efforts contributed to the success of the program, ensuring that students gained valuable knowledge about their future career options. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students, reflecting their keen interest in exploring career opportunities in Biotechnology, Biochemistry, and Microbiology. Such initiatives play a crucial role in guiding young minds toward informed career decisions and fostering scientific excellence.
