Srinagar : The Principal Chief Conservator of Forests & HoFF, Suresh Kumar Gupta convened a meeting to review the functioning of the Forest Department in Kashmir at Forest Complex Sheikh Bagh, Srinagar.
At the outset, a detailed power point presentation on the department’s activities and achievements in Kashmir was presented by the Chief Conservator of Forests, Kashmir, Irfan Rasool Wani.
The PCCF discussed various aspects of forest management, including conservation efforts, Ek Paed Maa kay Naam, Nagarvan and Eco-tourism initiatives, Survey & Demarcation, Protection measures, community engagement and Community Social Responsibility.
Moreover, PCCF also e-inaugurated “Nature and Knowledge Centre” a forest library established by the Pirpanjal Forest Division in a Government school at Sitharan Budgam. This initiative aims to provide students access to nature based books to promote environmental education among the younger generation.
Furthermore, the PCCF released annual environmental calendar 2025 prepared by DFO Planning and Publicity Division of the Forest Department. The calendar highlights the vital role forests play in nation development and human well-being.
The meeting was attended by all the Conservators of Forests, Regional heads and Divisional Forest Officers of Kashmir Region.
