Ganderbal : Central University of Kashmir (CUK) Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath Thursday inaugurated a seven-day long Induction cum Training Programme (offline and online mode) for Lower Division Clerks, Department Assistants and Multi-Tasking Staff, some of whom recently joined the varsity.
Addressing the participants, Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath said, the training programme marks a significant step in strengthening the institutional efficiency and professional development. “With an emphasis on overall skill enhancement and ethical conduct, the initiative aligns with the university’s vision of fostering excellence in higher education,” Prof. A Ravinder Nath said. CUKashmir Vice Chancellor further said such initiatives will continue to play a vital role in creating a responsive and dynamic administrative system, contributing to the holistic growth of the institution. Prof. A Ravinder Nath, asked the participants to make contributions towards the institutional progress and development according to best of their abilities and knowledge. CUKashmir VC asked the administrative staff to work with utmost dedication, honesty, conviction and commitment to make the university an institution par excellence.
Speaking on the occasion, Registrar, Prof. M Afzal Zargar, highlighted that while faculty members are at the forefront of academic excellence, the backbone of any institution lies in its administrative workforce. He said the primary objective of organising the induction programme is to enhance skills and efficiency, and to familiarize new and existing non-teaching staff with university policies, rules, and best practices. “The training covers office management, communication, service regulations, and the critical role of administrative personnel in supporting academic activities,” he said. CUKashmir Registrar lauded the dedication of the non-teaching staff and encouraged them to actively participate in the training sessions to enhance their efficiency and productivity. Prof. Zargar also addressed the participants on the topic “Organizational structure of the University.”
Dean Academic Affairs, Prof. Shahid Rasool, who made a presentation on the topic “Understanding the Vision, Mission and Objectives,” emphasized the crucial role of non-teaching staff in the smooth functioning of the university. “A well-trained and motivated administrative team is the bedrock of an efficient academic institution. Continuous learning and skill development are essential for institutional excellence,” he remarked. He encouraged the participants to leverage the training to enhance their professional competencies. Prof. Shahid enumerated commandments for effective functioning of the administration. He stressed the importance of adapting to modern administrative practices, leveraging technology, and upholding integrity and professionalism. He asked the administrative staff to put in their best efforts to realize the vision and mission of the university. Earlier, the programme coordinator and Dy Registrar (P&D), Dr. Javid Wani, in his welcome address, said the training programme includes interactive sessions, expert lectures to be delivered by professionals, senior administrators, and subject matter experts. “These sessions will encourage participants to engage in discussions, share their experiences, and learn from best practices in university administration,” he said.
