Srinagar : The Smart City project is still in its early stages, yet such infrastructural failures are already occurring, and this should not be happening, said National Conference (JKNC) Chief Spokesperson and MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq, on Thursday while reacting to the Boulevard Road erosion that occurred this morning.
Sadiq termed this erosion a “Smart City Failure,” questioning whether proper groundwork had been done before the project’s implementation.
Speaking to reporters on the sidelines of his visit to Boulevard, MLA Zadibal, Tanvir Sadiq said the erosion was a failure of planning and execution, raising concerns over whether proper groundwork had been done before the project’s implementation.
Expressing concern over the issue, he said the Smart City project is still in its early stages, yet such infrastructural failures are already occurring. “This should not be happening,” he added, stating that he would take up the matter with the Chief Minister’s office and senior officials for immediate action.
Sadiq also questioned whether proper soil testing had been conducted before the project’s execution. “It is not just about beautification; the base needs to be solidified,” he said adding Boulevard Road is a major tourist attraction and a vital pathway for locals, and any negligence in the project will be identified and addressed.
