DC G’bal presides over weekly Block Diwas at Manigam

Ganderbal : Deputy Commissioner Ganderbal, Jatin Kishore on Wednesday presided over a public outreach program as a part of weekly Block Diwas program here at Community Centre Manigam.
The outreach program focused on addressing public grievances focusing on fostering inclusive development and ensuring time-bound redressal of issues.
The residents of Block Lar apprised DC regarding various developmental issues pertaining to their areas and sought intervention for timely redressal of the genuine concerns.
The public representatives demanded creation of Zonal Education office in Lar, Horticulture zone office, creation of Tehsil Social Welfare office, dredging and repairment of irrigation canals, upgradation of PHC Lar, Fire Service Station, completion of lift irrigation at waliwar, completion of play ground at Chountwaliwar, verification of Units established under PMEGP, cleanliness of water bodies and upgradation of grounds and parks.
DC had a patient hearing to all the issues raised and gave necessary directions to the concerned departments for timely redressal of genuine grievances as per their competence.
DC while speaking on the occasion said that the district administration is continuously monitoring the resolution of grievances raised at various levels by the general public and emphasized that the district administration remains accessible to the people and is dedicated to addressing their grievances effectively.
Regarding the repair of irrigation canals, the Irrigation & Flood Control department informed that several projects, including work on Baba and Dab canals, have been approved and will commence soon.
Addressing the issue of garbage collection, the Block Development Officer Lar informed that the door-to-door garbage collection service has been outsourced for which tendering process has been completed and will be awarded to the successful bidder soon.
Regarding release of subsidy of cases sponsored under PMEGP, GM DIC briefed the audience that the verification process is ongoing through a third party agency and till date, 242 cases were found eligible for subsidy out of which 190 cases are disbursed and subsidy for rest cases will be released soon.
Speaking on the occasion, the DDC member Lar appreciated the efforts of various departments in ensuring equitable development in Block Lar and addressing public concerns effectively.
The Block Diwas was attended by Additional Deputy Commissioner, Gulzar Ahmad, Assistant Commissioner Development, GM DIC, program officer ICDS, Executive Engineers of various engineering wings and other district and sectoral officers.
Later, the Deputy Commissioner presented the electric wheelchair to the beneficiary which was donated by the Hope Disability Centre/District Disability Rehabilitation Centre. This donation will greatly enhance the beneficiary’s mobility, as the wheelchair is easy to operate.
