Srinagar: Police on Wednesday said that during the current year it had received multiple complaints from the general public regarding missing/stolen mobile phones.
In a statement issued from Zonal police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that while acting on complaints, police achieved significant breakthrough by recovering 10 stolen smart phones worth 2.80 lakhs from different places of J&K and outside J&K, adding therein that smart phones on Wednesday handed over to their owners after completion of necessary legal formalities.
Stating that recipients expressed their gratitude and appreciation to polices’ relentless efforts in recovering their mobile phones Police in its statement advised people to use their mobile phones and other electronic media gadgets with precaution in order to safeguard themselves from cyber related frauds and crimes.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Police appealedl people to report missing and stolen mobile phones on CEIR Portal online on www.ceir.gov.in , dedicated online Portal on lost /stolen mobile phones by (Dept.of Telecommunications, Ministry of Communications GOI).
