GCOE Jammu pays tributes to Sardar Patel, Students compete in Role-playing of freedom fighters

Jammu: In a tribute to the ‘Iron Man of India,’ Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel, Government College of Education, Canal Road, celebrated his 150th birth anniversary with great zeal and patriotism by organizing a Role-Playing Competition on Patriotic Heroes.
The event aimed to inspire students to learn about and embody the values of Indian freedom fighters. The event was graced by the presence of the college Principal, Dr. Jyoti Parihar, who highlighted the significance of Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel’s contributions to the unity and integrity of India. In her address, she encouraged students to follow the footsteps of such legendary figures to build a stronger nation.
The competition was organized under the guidance of NSS Programme Officers Professor Sarita Dogra and Dr. Shubhra Jamwal, who worked diligently to make the event a grand success. Their efforts were supported by Professor Sunanda Rani and Professor Kiran Thapa, whose presence added to the event’s significance.
Participants enthusiastically portrayed various patriotic heroes, bringing history to life through their powerful performances. Their enactments paid tribute to the courage and patriotism of India’s freedom fighters. The competition was judged by Professor Roopa Kumari and Dr. Sonam Gandotra, who commended the participants for their outstanding performances and their deep understanding of the characters they portrayed. After a close contest, the winners were announced as follows:
First Position was bagged by Shabnam Kumari, the second Position was clinched by Manpreet Singh, while Damini stood at third.
The event concluded with vote of thanks by Saiyushi of B.Ed Sem II. She expressed gratitude to the organizers, judges, participants, and the audience for their active involvement and enthusiasm. The celebration instilled a sense of patriotism and reverence for India’s heroes among the students, making it a memorable tribute to Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel.
