Rajouri : Deputy Commissioner Abhishek Sharma, who has been assigned the additional charge of Registrar, Baba Ghulam Shah Badshah University (BGSBU), held an introductory meeting at the university, marking the beginning of his tenure in this additional role. Notably, he is the first IAS officer to be appointed as the Registrar of BGSBU.
During the visit, Abhishek Sharma conducted a comprehensive review of the university’s administrative functioning and assessed the progress of ongoing major initiatives. He also visited various academic and administrative departments, interacting with faculty and staff to understand key challenges and areas requiring improvement.
In a significant move, he conducted a late-night inspection of the residential hostels to assess student facilities, security arrangements, and overall living conditions. Taking a firm stand on accountability, he also took action against a hostel warden for lapses in duty.
Stressing the importance of efficient governance and student welfare, Abhishek Sharma directed the university administration to ensure a transparent, student-friendly environment and expedite pending developmental projects.
The visit was attended by officers and officials from BGSBU, faculty members, and administrative officers.
