Distt Admin Kishtwar set to launch Panchayat-Level IEC Campaign against Drug Abuse

Kishtwar : To combat drug abuse at the grassroots level, the District Administration Kishtwar, under the leadership of Deputy Commissioner (DC) , Rajesh Kumar Shavan is set to launch a Panchayat-Level Information, Education, and Communication (IEC) Campaign.
A crucial meeting chaired by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Kishtwar, Pawan Kotwal was held on Saturday to strategize and finalize the campaign’s implementation plan.
The initiative, which will be conducted under the direct supervision of DC, will witness his active participation in upcoming events, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to eradicating drug abuse from the district.
The meeting was attended by ASP Kishtwar, ACD Kishtwar, all Tehsildars, all BDOs, all CDPOs, all BMOs, and others via virtual mode.
The discussions focused on the execution of an action plan to curb drug abuse. The campaign is set to commence on 17th February 2025 across all blocks of the district.
The plan aims to ensure effective awareness at the grassroots level, with its implementation to be replicated in panchayats every Monday.
The ADC directed all concerned departments to collaborate at the Panchayat level, actively engage local influencers, religious leaders, and youth organizations in awareness drives, and utilize digital platforms for broader outreach.
The meeting concluded with a collective commitment to addressing drug abuse through a multi-sectoral approach, aiming for a drug-free and healthier future for the youth of Kishtwar.
The meeting was attended by PO ICDS Rishi Kumar Sharma, ACR Kishtwar Idrees Lone, DIO Kishtwar Dr. Kuldeep Kumar, TSWO Kishtwar Rajesh Sharma, along with other concerned officers and officials who joined via virtual mode.
