Jammu A demonstration of cutting-edge drone technology for foliar spraying of fertilizers was conducted in the Village Khour, Zone Kirpind area of RS Pura in presence of MLA Suchetgarh, Gharu Ram Bhagat, and the Director of Agriculture, Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen.
The demonstration showcased how drones can be used to apply fertilizers with precision, ensuring uniform distribution and minimizing wastage. The key fertilizers used in the demonstration were Nano Urea, which enhances nitrogen use efficiency, and Sagrika, a growth-promoting fertilizer. These technologies aim to improve crop productivity, reduce manual labour, and optimize input use.
MLA Gharu Ram Bhagat, in his address, commended the initiative and expressed his support for the adoption of modern agricultural practices. He highlighted how this technology will benefit local farmers, enhance agricultural output, and bring a new dimension to farming in the region. “I am delighted to see such innovations being introduced to the farming community. The use of drone technology will not only improve efficiency but also help reduce costs and increase productivity,” said Bhagat.
Director Agriculture Jammu, Arvinder Singh Reen also emphasized the revolutionary potential of drone technology in farming. “This is a game-changer for farmers,” he said. “By using drones, we can not only apply fertilizers with greater precision but also significantly reduce labour costs. This innovative approach will boost crop yields and contribute to sustainable farming practices.”
The demonstration underscored the benefits of integrating technology into agricultural practices, helping to tackle the challenges of traditional farming methods and improve efficiency.
Following the drone demonstration, Director A.S. Reen visited the Seed Processing Unit established under the private sector as part of Project No. 1, Development of Seed and Seed Multiplication Chain (HADP) in Panchayat Laswara, Zone Bishnah. SDAO R.S Pura Surinder Gupta, Agriculture Officers, staff and a large number of farmers of RS Pura Subdivision attended the drone demonstration programme.
