Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery Day celebrated at GDC & Hospital, Srinagar

Srinagar: Government Dental College & Hospital Srinagar on Thursday celebrated International Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery (OMFS) Day under the theme “Early detection of Oral Cancer & Self-examination” by the patient themselves.
On the occasion, Principal/ Dean Prof (Dr) Ajaz Ahmad Shah, delivered a lecture on oral cancer screening methods and incorporation of AI technology into the early screening.
The faculty of OMFS department Dr Irshad & Dr Altaf H Malik rolled out the campaign for OMFS day with pledge to teach common masses about self examination of their oral cavity for any potential changes & early self referral for oral cavity examination to the concerned doctors for further follow-up.
The department of Oral & Maxillofacial Surgery praised Prof. (Dr) Ajaz Ahamd Shah, for his role in upbringing the department to tertiary care level for treatment of Oral & Maxillofacial defects, disorders, disease and his role in starting the state of art care in this field.
The department awarded Prof. (Dr) Ajaz Ahmad Shah as celebrated ‘Maxillofacial surgeon’ of the state for his unparallel and praiseworthy role in progressing the department and getting it at par with the other tertiary care institute of the country.
The problem was attended by faculty members, staff & students.
