Two Criminals Arrested, Sharp-Edged Weapon Recovered Within 24 Hours by RS Pura Police

Jammu : Police in Jammu on Wednesday said that a special team from Police Station RS Pura arrested two criminals and recovered the weapon of offence within 24 hours of the incident.
In a statement issued from the District Police Office Jammu, police said that on 11th February an applicant, Siddiq, son of Mohd Ashraf, resident of Tanda, RS Pura, lodged a written complaint stating therein that on 7th February at around 7:00 PM, his younger brother, Mohd Saleem, S/O Mohd Ashraf, was standing opposite Deedar Medical Shop on the roadside at Tanda when he was wrongfully restrained and assaulted with deadly weapons by Dheeraj Kumar alias Jatt, S/O Janak Raj, R/O Chohala Kothey, RS Pura, Shibu Kumar, son of Garu Ram, R/O Chohala Kothey, RS Pura.
Police in its statement further said that the victim sustained serious injuries and was immediately taken to GMC Hospital for treatment and later on a case under FIR No. 26/2025 U/S 126(2)/115(2) BNS & 4/25 Arms Act was registered at Police Station RS Pura besides initiating further investigation.
“Acting swiftly, a special police team led by SHO RS Pura, Ravi Singh Parihar, using intelligence inputs and technical assistance, apprehended both accused within 24 hours”, reads the Police Statement, adding therein that during sustained interrogation, the said accused confessed their involvement in the crime, and based on their disclosure, the sharp-edged weapon used in the attack was recovered. In the concluding para of its above quoted statement Jammu Police reaffirmed its commitment to take strict action against criminal elements for the safety of local populations.
