DC Shopian holds Public Darbar at Narapora, Keller

Shopian : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Shopian, Shishir Gupta on Wednesday chaired a public darbar at BDO’s office Narapora in the Keller block of district to assess and address public issues and concerns.
On the occasion, scores of delegations and citizens projected various development issues and demands of their respective areas, requiring attention and redressal by the authorities, spanning across departments.
The major developmental issues flagged included augmentation of play grounds, widening of roads, car parking at Keller Hospital, water supply issues, establishment of veterinary centre, J&K Bank Branch, Fire Service station, functioning of bus services on all routes besides irrigation facilities.
DDC Vice-Chairperson, Irfan Manhas and DDC, member, Fazul-ul-Din also highlighted the issues of public importance which included heating system for Keller Hospital, Naserpora Zrakan bridge, lift irrigation Moshwara, road widening of Shadab Karewa, speeding up of work on Chanchmarag to Dabjan road, & other issues for early redressal.
DC assured appropriate action for redressal of all public issues in a phased manner while directing the concerned departments to ensure vigorous follow up on genuine public grievances and issues.
He also called for timely resolution of local issues, particularly those requiring inter- departmental coordination at the district and block level.
DC also cautioned people to keep close watch on drug abuse and coordination with authorities. He also called upon people for maintaining cleanliness in their surroundings through adhering to safe disposal of waste in dustbins.
He also reiterated the Government’s commitment towards enhancing public services and ensuring an effective and responsive administration.
ADDC, Dr. Nasir Ahmad Lone, ADC, Dr. Zakir Hussain Faaz, ACP, Manzoor Ahmad, district officers, tehsil and block officers and other concerned officials besides a huge gathering of people participated in the public darbar.
