Bandipora : District administration Bandipora on Tuesday organised an awareness workshop on the occasion of Safer Internet Day to promote safe and responsible internet usage.
The event was presided over by Additional Deputy Commissioner (ADC) Bandipora, Zaffar Husson Shawl, and was attended by PO ICDS Yaar Ali Khan, ACD Irfan Bahadur, DTO Sheikh Aabid Manzoor, Network Engineer NIC Aaqib Bashir Mir, Network Engineer NIC Sheikh Ubaid ur Rehman besides officers and officials from various departments.
The workshop was aimed to educate participants on various internet safety practices and raise awareness about the importance of cyber hygiene.
Addressing the participants Additional Deputy Commissioner emphasized the importance of careful and conscious internet usage. He encouraged the participants to stay informed and adopt best practices to safeguard their personal information and online activities besides also highlighted the various aspects of responsible digital behavior.
He emphasized that the digital age presents both opportunities and risks, and it is essential for everyone to understand how to navigate the online world securely and responsibly.
On the occasion, Network Engineer NIC Bandipora Faisal Manzoor provided an insightful presentation, focusing on the essential aspects of internet safety, common cyber threats, and practical steps to avoid them.
He highlighted key issues such as financial fraud, lottery scams, and investment fraud besides emphasized the importance of being vigilant when using social media platforms.
Network Engineer Faisal Manzoor also explained effective mechanisms to report cyber crimes and stressed the need for proper cybersecurity measures to protect individuals and organizations from online risks.
