ADM bans use, possession of drones, flying objects in Doda district

Doda: Additional District Magistrate has imposed a ban on sale, storage, possession, use and transport of any drones, flying objects in the jurisdiction of District Doda.
“Those already in possession of drone cameras/flying objects/toys or similar gadgets are directed to deposit the same in the nearest Police Station within a week’s time of the issuance of this order against proper receipt” the order issued on Tuesday stated.
It further stated that the Government Departments using drones for mapping, surveys, surveillance in construction works, agricultural, environmental conservation and disaster mitigation sectors and for creating pictures/movies shall inform the local Police Station Incharge and the Executive Magistrate concerned in writing about possession of such flying objects and shall seek prior permission from the ADC office before using the same.
The police/defense forces using flying objects/drone shall be exempted under this order. They shall, however, intimate the concerned SHO before using the same, it added.
Any violation of this order shall attract punitive action as warranted under relevant sections of law. This order shall remain in force for a period of two months from the date of its issue.
The Senior Superintendent of Police, Doda shall ensure the implementation of this order in letter and spirit.
