Bootlegger arrested in Kupwara, illicit liquor also recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Monday said that it has arrested a bootlegger in Kupwara and also seized illicit liquor from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police team of Police Post Kalaroos, at a checkpoint established near Fire Service Station Kalaroos, intercepted a suspect identified as Hilal Ahmad Bhat S/o Khizar Ahmad Bhat R/o Kalaroos and during the search, recovered 37 bottles of illicit liquor from the possession of the said accused.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 37/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Kupwara besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward with any information related to drug or liquor Trafficking in their area.
