Srinagar: BJP National General Secretary Tarun Chugh on Tuesday said that the party remains committed to the development and security of Jammu & Kashmir, stating that abrogation of Article 370 and 35A granted greater rights to the people
Talking to reporters in Jammu, Chugh said that Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Home Minister Amit Shah have already made commitments regarding statehood restoration.
“When the Prime Minister himself has spoken about statehood in the Lok Sabha, why should we demand it separately?” he said.
He added that statehood would be restored at the right time and urged political leaders including CM Omar Abdullah to focus on fulfilling their own promises to the people of Jammu & Kashmir.
Chugh said that every BJP worker, whether a legislator or a party member, has the right to express their views in line with the ideology of Shyama Prasad Mukherjee.
