Srinagar: Government Unani Medical College (GUMC) Ganderbal students have achieved outstanding results in the Bachelor of Unani Medicine and Surgery (BUMS) university examination held in 2024.
Maintaining the institution’s high standards of academic excellence, students have set new benchmarks in academic achievement.
Hadiya Malik, a third-year BUMS student, secured the top position among all colleges of Kashmir Division with an impressive 90.16% marks (1082 marks). Wasia Tariq also achieved a notable third position with 1058 marks in the same examination.
These exceptional results demonstrate the students’ hard work and dedication to academic excellence.
In another significant achievement, the Central Council of Research in Unani Medicine, New Delhi, sanctioned two research projects to two final-year students, Janat Manhas and Wasim Ahmad.
The research work has to be carried out under the guidance of Dr. Amjad Waheed Yousuf and Dr. Azad Hussain Lone, Associate Professors, Govt Unani Medical College Ganderbal.
The students expressed their gratitude to the college administration, particularly Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan, for their constant encouragement and support.
Prof. Dr. Iffat Hassan, Head of the Institution, attributed these success stories to the collective efforts of the faculty members and the nodal officer of the college.
Established in 2020, Government Unani Medical College Ganderbal aims to provide high-quality education in the Ayush system, particularly Unani Medicine. The Ministry of Ayush, Government of India, has granted yearly permission to the institution for the past five years. With its focus on quality education and research, GUMC Ganderbal is expected to become one of the leading research institutions in the country.
