Drug peddler arrested in Pulwama; contraband substance recovered: Police

Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Pulwama and also recovered psychotropic substance from his possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Post Newa during patrolling at Parigam apprehended a suspect identified as Solihat Bashir S/o Bashir Ahmed Wani R/o Parigam roaming in the area and during search recovered heroine-like substance weighing 11 grams from the possession of the said accused who was subsequently arrested.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 33/25 under section 8/20-29 NDPS law was registered at Police Station Pulwama besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to come forward in fight against the drug menace and feel free to contact nearest police station or PCR Pulwama if any drug peddling gets noticed in their area.
