DC Kishtwar holds public outreach camp at Binoon, addresses public grievances

Kishtwar : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kishtwar, Rajesh Kumar Shavan on Saturday convened public outreach camp here at village Binoon, Block Bonjwah, where he listened to public grievances and assured time-bound redressal of the same.
During the camp, several delegations raised demands, seeking development of infrastructure to improve basic amenities, Upgradation and repair of schools, sanctioning of a Government Degree College in the area, timely payment and work completion under MGNREGA, replacement of damaged electric poles, augmentation of power sub-stations, and timely completion of ongoing Jal Jeevan Mission (JJM) schemes.
Besides, people demanded the Staff rationalization in schools, hospitals, and government offices, filling of potholes on roads, repair of the Pashala-Tipri and other roads, and expediting PMGSY projects to connect left-out villages with a population over 250 households.
Other Public issues projected included up-dation of ration cards, enhancement of tourism infrastructure and legal action against those responsible for forest fires.
The DC directed concerned departments to take immediate action and submit compliance reports. He emphasised public participation in governance and assured that the district administration remains accessible to address any service-related grievances.
Highlighting key developmental initiatives, the DC urged locals to participate in the ongoing PMAY survey to ensure all left-out eligible beneficiaries are registered. He also directed PMGSY authorities to expedite work on sanctioned road projects for timely completion and blacklisting of those contractors who fail to execute work.
Recognizing the tourism potential of the region, he assured to organize the Summer Festival at Bonjwah to boost local tourism. The DC also informed the public about the month-long sports activities to be held under ongoing Sansad Khel Yojna in the Devigol area of Bonjwah.
“Besides, Health camps for free medical checkup will be hosted at the doorstep of Bonjwah people.” He also discussed the Model Panchayat initiative, talking about the 85 schemes being implemented in 13 designated panchayats, one each in every block and to intensify Nasha Mukht Bharat campaign and TB eradication program.
These model panchayats aims at replicating successful governance models across other panchayats. He urged people to take benefits of Government schemes like HADP and special mention of ongoing PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli Yojana. The DC stressed focusing on water conservation, soil conservation under MGNREGA in upcoming plans.
On the sidelines of the camp, the Motor Vehicle Department Kishtwar conducted a medical camp for drivers. The departments put up stalls to showcase government schemes and initiatives, which were inspected by DC Kishtwar.
Pertinent to mention that during 5 months tenure, DC toured every tehsil and held public grievances redressal camps in all sub divisions and tehsil including far flung Marwah and DC said it will be a routine feature of the administration.
The event witnessed the presence of DDC members, SSP Javid Iqbal (JKPS), DPO ICDS, ACD, DSWO, AD FCS&CA, CAO, Executive Engineers (Jal Shakti), ARTO, AD Handicrafts, DFO, BDO, and other Block and Tehsil level officers.
