2 drug peddlers arrested in Srinagar, contraband substances recovered: Police

Srinagar :Police on Saturday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Srinagar and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar, a police team of Police Station Chanapora during naka checking near Estate Quarter intercepted a motor cycle bearing registration number JK01AB-3331 with two suspets identified as Shahrim Anasari S/o Tasleem Anasari R/o Muzaffar Nagar UP A/P Mandir Bagh and Saqib Ansari S/o Sajad Anasari R/o Muzaffar Nagar UP A/P Mandir Bagh Srinagar on board, who tried to flee from the spot but were apprehended tactfully.
Stating that during search, substantial quantity of drugs and narcotic substances was recovered from the possession of the said accused who were subsequently were arrested Police in its statement further said that a case underFIR No 05/2025 under relevant sections of NDPS Act was registered in Police Station Chanapora initiating further investigation.
In the concluding para of its above quoted statement police appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
