Srinagar: A high-level meeting chaired by Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) president and former Chief Minister of Jammu and Kashmir, Mehbooba Mufti, took place at the party headquarters in Srinagar on Friday. Senior party leaders gathered to discuss the escalating civilian killings and arbitrary arrests occurring in the name of security across Jammu and Kashmir.
A party spokeman said here on Friday that the meeting also covered key political and organizational matters, alongside the pressing challenges faced by the region’s residents. During the discussions, a decision was made to launch a membership drive, set to begin on February 13 at the PDP office in Jammu.
Mehbooba Mufti urged party leaders to take the membership campaign to every corner of Jammu and Kashmir to expand the party’s base and enhance its support.
Key party leaders present included Mir Mohammad Fayaz from Kupwara, and senior leaders Naeem Akhtar and Asiya Naqash.
