Speaking on the occasion, Sham Lal Sharma stated that promoting entrepreneurship and skill development, especially among women and marginal sections of the society, is a key focus of the government schemes.
While lauding the role of J&K KVIB in employment generation, he underscored the need for conducting more awareness/ sensitization campaigns to disseminate the information about the employment generation schemes and programmes among the local communities. He added that promotion of employment generation schemes would help in reducing unemployment and poverty. “Through strategic planning, investment and support, the sector can become a major driver of economic activity and livelihood enhancement,” he maintained.
Earlier, the Dy. CEO Jammu Division gave detailed presentation on the modalities involved in implementation of JKREGP and PMEGP. The stakeholders were informed that the aspiring entrepreneurs can apply online for availing the financial assistance under these schemes.
