DC Kulgam approves calendar of activities for 2025, Reviews performance of Cooperative Deptt

Kulgam : The 5th District Level Cooperative Development Committee (DLCDC) meeting of Kulgam was held on Thursday under the chairmanship of Deputy Commissioner (DC) Athar Aamir Khan to devise the calendar of activities for the International Year of Cooperatives 2025 (IYC-2025).
After detailed discussions, a comprehensive calendar of activities was approved by the DC for organization of awareness programs, financial literacy, training camps, debates and seminars, quiz competitions, sports activities and health camps in collaboration with the Agriculture and allied departments.
Also, the committee reviewed the implementation of decisions taken at the last four Joint Working Committee meetings.
Meanwhile, DC directed the Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives (DRCS), and other committee members to expedite execution of approved list of activities for the current year.
DC directed the Deputy Registrar Cooperative Societies (DRCS) to increase the number of Cooperative registrations by facilitating the formation of new Multi-Purpose Agricultural Cooperative Societies (M-PACS), as well the Diary and Fisheries Cooperative Societies.
He also instructed them to identify potential panchayats for mobilizing cooperative membership through awareness camps in collaboration with allied departments like CAPD Education & Health besides formulation of a proper media plan for effective publicity and awareness among the masses.
Earlier, Deputy Registrar, Cooperatives, Javid Ahmad Bagwan provided an overview of the cooperative sectors performance in the district through a power point presentation.
The presentation highlighted the annual business, turn over of Women Consumer Stores, Marketing Societies and other Cooperative Societies operation in the district.
The meeting was attended by ADDC Altaf Ahmad Khan, CPO Zahid Sajad, ACP Nazia Hassan, CHO, CAHO, DSHO, Dy. Registrar Cooperative, AD Handicraft/ Handloom, LDM, DDM NABARD, AR Cooperative, staff of cooperative department and others.
