Kishtwar : As part of the District Administration’s extensive public outreach initiative, Deputy Commissioner (DC) Rajesh Kumar Shavan convened the weekly Block Diwas camp at the far-flung Sub-Division Marwah to address public grievances and assess developmental needs.
A large number of locals, including prominent citizens, participated in the event and apprised the DC of various issues concerning infrastructure, health, education, road connectivity, communication, and electricity. Specific concerns were raised regarding fair-weather roads, healthcare services, and public transport.
Listening attentively to public grievances, the DC resolved several issues on-the-spot and directed the concerned officers to ensure prompt redressal of the remaining matters. He assured the people that the functioning of government offices in Marwah would be streamlined, with strict action against erring officials and necessary steps taken to address staff shortages.
The DC instructed SDM Marwah to ensure punctuality of government employees through regular monitoring and strict vigilance. Additionally, he directed XEn PMGSY to expedite the road construction in the region and complete it within the stipulated time frame to alleviate public hardships.
Emphasizing road and mobile connectivity as top priorities, the DC assured the people that all necessary steps would be taken to improve these essential services.
During the event, a pledge was also taken against drug abuse and criminal activities, reinforcing the administration’s commitment to a crime-free and drug-free society.
A deputation of young girls demanded skill development training, and the DC issued on-the-spot instructions for the opening of training centers.
The issues of the PMAY survey also came under discussion and the DC ordered BDO that no eligible person shall be left out from the survey.
For BPL ration cards, the DC asked the AD, FCS&CA to include eligible persons, such as daily-rated and casual laborers, if their income is below the ceiling limit.
As a part of the Green India Initiative, the DC planted a sapling in the SDM office premises and directed the Forest Department to launch a massive plantation drive in the subdivision. He also instructed officials to identify the causes behind recent fire incidents and take strict action if any.
The program was attended by SDM Marwah Dr. Mohammad Ashraf; Executive Engineer PMGSY Rajesh Sharma, along with other district officers and field functionaries from various other departments.
