Training Session on iRAD Project held in Doda

Doda : A training session on the Integrated Road Accident Database (iRAD) Project was conducted on Tuesday at the conference hall of the DC office complex Doda.
The iRAD project, an initiative of the Ministry of Road Transport and Highways (MoRTH) and funded by the World Bank, aims to enhance road safety across the country. The project involves creating an accurate and uniform system for collecting road accident data through a mobile and web application developed specifically for this purpose.
The iRAD application facilitates data collection from four key stakeholder departments: Police, Transport, Highways, and Health. The collected data will be analyzed using various techniques to identify accident-prone areas and causes. This analysis will be presented in dashboards, accessible to higher authorities and MoRTH, enabling the formulation of strategies to reduce road accidents and improve safety nationwide. The project is being implemented with the collaboration of NICSI and IIT Madras, which are responsible for the design, development, training, and research components.
The training session focused on the use of iRAD and E-DAR for road safety and was attended by officials from the Public Works Department (PWD), including XEN PWD, AEEs, and Junior Engineers. The master trainer provided an in-depth session on how to effectively use the iRAD system, and the NIC Doda representative highlighted the features and benefits of the app. The iRAD project encompasses key areas such as education, engineering, emergency care, and enforcement, all critical components of improving road safety.
