Jammu: Panic gripped Jammu on Tuesday evening when a group of miscreants fired few rounds in Phallian Mandal area here in the city outskirts.
Police however, said that suspected “rivalry” led to the firing incident.
“A group of car borne miscreants this evening fired few rounds in Phallian Mandal area of Satwari,” police said.
They said that the rounds were fired on the rival group, adding, “one luxurious SUV was damaged in the firing incident.”
The miscreants fled away from the spot, adding police said, “no injury has been reported.”
Police team immediately rushed to the spot on receiving the information.
Meanwhile two empty cartridges were also recovered from the scene of crime, said police.
Notably, on January 21, a member of Gataroo gang, Sumit Jandayal was shot dead in a broad daylight in Jewel Chowk area here.
Police have arrested five persons including three key accused persons in this case from New Delhi.
