MD KPDCL reviews power scenario, RDSS works, PM Surya Ghar in Baramulla

Baramulla: MD KPDCL Mahmood Ahmad Shah today visited District Baramulla where he chaired a meeting of engineers to review power scenario and implementation of various centrally sponsored schemes.
Besides SE Muhammad Hussain, the meeting was attended by Executive Engineer Ajaz Ronga and other engineering /officer of Kashmir Power Distribution Corporation Ltd.
At the outset MD KPDCL took a firsthand appraisal of the power scenario and directed the officer to ensure smooth power supply to all the major towns of the District and far flung aeras .
MD was apprised about the damages of the transformers and replacements thereof.
On the occasion, the officers where directed to ensure swift restoration of power in case of inclement weather and replacement of damaged transformers as per the set timeline.
He was informed about the IEC awareness camps organised at various location across the district for the promotion of PM Surya Ghar Muft Bijli yojna.
He was also informed that 816 applications have been received with installations of 28 units till date.
On the occasion, MD directed the officers to ensure that all the applications received be perused and installation be completed end of March 2025.
He further directed for hand holding of the applicants in completing the installations and continuing the campaign for maximum benefits to the consumers of the districts .
Shah also inspected various receiving stations, feeders, worksites and Grid station.
He also took on spot review of the ongoing RDSS distribution works of Baramulla at Garkote, Boniyar, Pahlipora, Bandi and Watergam including smart metering works.
Shah also checked charging of DTs and AB Cabling network in Uri Town executed previously under IPDS.
While inspecting the works, he emphasised to ensure all the safety protocols to be fallowed for the safety of the Staff /Workers.
