Anantnag : The Deputy Commissioner (DC) Anantnag, Syeed Fakhruddin Hamid, chaired a preliminary meeting to review the arrangements for Shri Amarnath Ji Yatra (SANJY) 2025.
The meeting focused on continuing the well-established framework of past Yatras while identifying areas for further refinement to enhance pilgrim convenience and safety.
The DC reviewed the arrangements made in previous years and emphasized the need for seamless coordination among departments to maintain the standard of services and introduce necessary improvements.
Infrastructure development, medical facilities, sanitation, traffic management, and other essential services will continue to be key focus areas, with refinements based on past experiences.
The Rural Development & Panchayati Raj Department and Municipalities were directed to sustain their efforts in waste management, sanitation facilities, and cleanliness drives along the Yatra routes and at base camps, ensuring an efficient and hygienic environment.
The Transport Department and Traffic Police will follow the established traffic management plan, including designated parking zones, personnel deployment, and congestion control measures, while incorporating improvements where required.
The Jal Shakti Department was instructed to ensure adequate potable water supply, with necessary enhancements where needed. Measures will also be taken to strengthen telecommunication services, improve signage along the route, and upgrade public convenience facilities.
The Health Department will continue its setup of medical camps at key locations, ambulance deployment, and stocking of essential medicines and oxygen cylinders, with refinements to address any emerging requirements. Accommodation and pony services will be managed as per past practice, with improvements to ensure greater comfort for yatris.
The Deputy Commissioner underscored the importance of systematic registration of yatris to facilitate smooth operations and prevent last-minute challenges.
He directed all departments to maintain coordination and ensure timely execution of all arrangements, in line with previous Yatras, while incorporating necessary refinements.
The meeting concluded with instructions for regular follow-ups and strict adherence to timelines for task completion.
