All India Inter University Winter Games 2024-2025 Concludes

Gulmarg: The All India Inter University Winter Games, hosted by the Central University of Kashmir (CUK), in association with the Association of Indian Universities concluded with a valedictory ceremony on Friday evening, celebrating the achievements of student-athletes from universities across India.
The ceremony was graced by Shri Satish Sharma, Hon’ble Minister of Youth Services and Sports, along with eminent dignitaries including Prof. A. Ravinder Nath, Vice Chancellor of CUKashmir; Prof. Shakil Ahmad Romshoo, Vice Chancellor of IUST; Dr. Baljit Singh Sekhon, Joint Secretary of AIU; Prof. Syed Zahoor Geelani, Dean of School of Education; Dr. Kaukab Azeem, Director of Sports; and Mr. Seemab Azeem, Observer of AIU, among others.
In his address, Satish Sharma, the Hon’ble Minister commended the efforts of CUK in successfully organizing the event and assured the audience of continued support for winter sports, emphasizing its role in enhancing tourism and positioning India as a winter sports hub. CUKashmir’s Vice Chancellor, Prof. A Ravinder Nath, expressed gratitude to the Association of Indian Universities (AIU) for entrusting the university with the prestigious event and highlighted the growing sports culture in Jammu and Kashmir.
In the Giant Slalom Skiing event for men, Mustafa Raheel from CUK won the gold medal, followed by Mubashir Riyaz from CUK with the silver, and Tajamul Manzoor from CUK taking home the bronze. In the women’s Giant Slalom Skiing event, Sadiya Aijaz from IUST secured the gold medal, while Muneeza Jan from CUK won silver and Huzaima Hanief from CUK earned bronze.
In the men’s Slalom Skiing event, Mubashir Riyaz from CUK claimed the gold medal, with Ryaan Hassan Khan from IUST taking silver and Haadi Hassan Khan from IUST winning bronze. For the women’s Slalom Skiing event, Sadiya Aijaz from IUST again won the gold medal, followed by Huzaima Hanief from CUK with the silver, and Muskaan Mehraj from CUK capturing the bronze.
In the Ice Stock Team Distance Event for men, KBP University Satara won the gold medal, followed by LTS, Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, which secured the silver, and Lucknow University and IIMT University, Meerut, which won bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively. In the women’s Ice Stock Team Distance Event, Shivaji University Kolhapur earned the gold medal, with Central University of Kashmir taking silver, and Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, along with PPS University, winning bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively.
In the Ice Stock Team Target Event for men, KBP University achieved gold, followed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, winning silver, and Lucknow University and IIMT University, Meerut, claiming bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively. For the women’s Ice Stock Team Target Event, Shivaji University Kolhapur won gold, with the Central University of Kashmir coming in second for silver. LTSU Punjab and Vivekananda Global University secured bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively.
In the Ice Stock Individual Distance Event for men, LTSU Punjab took the gold medal, followed by Vivekananda Global University, Jaipur, which won silver, and KBP University and Integral University, which earned bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively. For the women’s Ice Stock Individual Distance Event, Rashtriya Raksha University, Gujarat, won gold, while Shivaji University secured silver. Vivekananda Global University and SKD University earned bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively.
In the Ice Stock Individual Target Event for men, University of Kashmir took the gold medal, followed by YS Paramar University, which won silver, and Indira Gandhi Technological and Medical Sciences University (IGTAMSU), and LNCT M.P which earned bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively. For the women’s Ice Stock Individual Target Event, Central university of Kashmir won gold, while IUST secured silver. University of Kashmir and Bhagwant University earned bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively.
In the Ice Stock Team Game Event for men, IUST won gold, followed by CT University earning silver, and PPSU and IIMT, which claimed bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively. For the women’s Ice Stock Team Game Event, Vivekananda Global University took home the gold medal, with LTSU earning silver. Central University of Kashmir and LNCT secured bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively.
In the Mixed Team Target Event for men, the Central University of Kashmir won gold, followed by Carrier Point winning silver, and CRSU and Bhagwant University earning bronze and second-place bronze medals, respectively.
Dr. Mohammad Muzamil Shah, Assistant Professor in the Department of Physical Education at the Central University of Kashmir, conducted the proceedings of the event.
