Srinagar : Police on Saturday said that it has seized four vehicles involved in illegal extraction and transportation of minerals in Pampore area of Awantipora.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party from Police Station Pampore headed by SHO Police Station Pampore Inspector Naieem Rashid under the supervision of SDPO Pampore seized four vehicles (tippers) bearing registration numbers JK01L-2855, JK13J-5961, JK01R-7454 and JK04A-7877, involved in illegal transportation of minerals in Samboora, Pampore.
Stating that a case under FIR No. 12/2025 under relevant sections of law was registered at police station besides initiating further investigations Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement warned that people found indulging in illegal mining activities shall be dealt as per law and appealed people to share information regarding the crimes in their neighbourhood with their concerned police units.
