DC Kulgam reviews arrangements for Urs of Syed Noor Shah Wali Bagdadi (RA)

Kulgam : Deputy Commissioner (DC) Kulgam, Athar Aamir Khan on Thursday chaired a meeting to review arrangements for annual urs of Sufi saint Hazrat Syed Noor Shah Saheb Wali Bagdadi (RA).
Chairman Local Intizamia Committee Kund informed that the Urs of the saint will commence from February 01 and shall be observed with reverence & religious fervour at Waltengo and Oriel Shrines of Kund Valley.
Addressing the meeting, Deputy Commissioner (DC) directed the officers to ensure uninterrupted power supply, safe drinking water supply, proper sanitation measures besides healthcare facilities and security arrangements at shrine during Urs days.
DC emphasized the KPDCL to ensure the uninterrupted power supply during the auspicious days in entire Kund block and repairing of high mast lights.
The concerned officer of Mechanical department was asked to keep men and machinery available and in ready mode to clear roads in case of snowfall during these days to ensure hassle-free movement of devotees.
DC stressed upon the officers to work in coordination and to put in place all the requisite arrangements in advance to avoid any inconvenience to the people and assist in smooth observance of Urs.
Transport department was directed to ensure hassle-free movement of devotees besides availability of late evening public transport services to Kund area during the festival days, the press release reads out.
The meeting was attended by ACR Mushtaq Rasool, DDC member Kund Gulzar Ahmad, SDPO Qazigund Rameez Raja, Tehsildar Devsar Rakib Ahmad, Executive Enginers of KPDCL, PWD, Mechanical, Jal Shakti Qazigund, C.M.O, A.D Fisheries, Range Officer Kulgam and other Officers.
