Central University of Jammu and Garuda Aerospace sign MoU to establish CoE

Jammu : The Department of Electronics and Communication at the Central University of Jammu on Saturday signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Garuda Aerospace Private Limited, Chennai to establish Centre of Excellence (CoE) on Drone Technology at CU.
The MoU signing ceremony was held in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Prof Sanjeev Jain at ISRO Building in the Central University here.
On the occasion, Central University of Jammu Registrar Prof. Yashwant Singh, Chief Operating Officer of Garuda Aerospace, Dr. Vijay Kumar, HoD ECE Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha, Faculty members, staff and students were present.
Prof. Yashwant Singh highlighted the infrastructure and facilities available at the Central University of Jammu.
He also highlighted the importance of such MoU and Collaborations to develop the solutions for the society and nation as per industry 5.0.
Dr. Vijay Kumar showed keen interest to establish their Centre of excellence (CoE) on drone technology at Central University of Jammu.
The aim of the CoE is to provide the training and internships to the students, develop the UAV lab. It is also to develop the research and development facility on drone technology at Central University of Jammu, the solutions for agriculture sector, defenve sector and space technology.
The event was coordinated by Dr. Sunil Datt Sharma, Associate Professor and Dr. Haneet Kour, Research Associate at Satish Dhawan Centre of Space Sciences (SDCSS).
At the end of the event, Prof. Rakesh Kumar Jha delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to Registrar Prof Yashwant Singh, COO Garuda aerospace Dr. Vijay Kumar, faculty members and students present during the MoU ceremony.
