Srinagar : Police on Friday said that it has arrested a drug peddler in Baramulla and also recovered psychotropic substances from his possession
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a Police party of Police Station Pattan headed by SHO Police Station Pattan at a checkpoint established near GDC Pattan, intercepted one Showkat Ahmad Bhat S/o Gulzar Ahmad R/o Yakhmanpora Pattan and during search recovered 19 syrups of banned drugs (Cocas Dx) from his possession of the said accused who was subsequently arrested.
Stating that a case under relevant sections of law was registered at Police Station Pattan besides initiating further investigation Police in the concluding para of its above quoted statement appealed people to cooperate with it in curbing the menace of drugs from the society, reiterating therein its commitment to act tough against the criminals as per law.
