Transport Commr, JMC Commissioner inaugurate cleanliness, awareness drive for drivers

Jammu : Transport Commissioner, Jammu & Kashmir Vishesh Paul Mahajan and Jammu Municipal Corporation Commissioner Divyansh Yadav Thursday inaugurated a Cleanliness cum Awareness Drive for drivers here at WareHouse. The event was organized by the Pollution Control Centres Union and witnessed active participation from drivers of Mini-Buses and Buses.
Devansh Yadav, CEO Smart City was the Guest of Honour. During the drive, dustbins were installed at key locations and distributed among Mini-Bus and Bus drivers to encourage proper waste disposal. Additionally, a “Dos and Don’ts” guide for commercial vehicles was also launched, aimed at promoting road safety and environmental consciousness among drivers.
Speaking on the occasion, CEO Smart City, Devansh Yadav, emphasized the importance of maintaining cleanliness at bus stops and other public areas, assuring that the Smart City Mission will play an active role in ensuring proper sanitation and waste management in the city.
Addressing the gathering, Vishesh Paul Mahajan highlighted the significance of cleanliness and its direct correlation with road safety. He encouraged drivers to adopt clean and responsible practices not only for the benefit of passengers but also for the overall well-being of the community.
Among others present were Jt. Transport Commissioner Vinay Samotra), Regional Transport Officer Jammu Pankaj Bhagotra, Joint Commissioner Municipal Abdul Satar, Health Officer JMC Dr Vinod Sharma, ARTO HQr. Jammu Rehana Tabassam, ARTO (FS) Bipen Singh Charak, ARTO B.O.I (P) Tara Mani, Members of different Transport Unions, MVIs and SMVIs .
The event concluded with a strong message to drivers and the public about the importance of cleanliness, road safety, and collective responsibility in creating a sustainable environment.
Later Transport commissioner along with CEO Smart city also took a whirl round of Apsara road Jammu, to take stock of traffic related issues.
