R-Day-2025 celebration arrangements finalized at Handwara

Kupwara : On the directions of Deputy Commissioner Kupwara, District Programme Officer ICDS Kupwara, Hakeem Tanveer on Tuesday convened a meeting of all concerned officers here, to finalize the arrangements for smooth and hassle free celebration of Republic Day 2025.
The meeting held threadbare discussions on the arrangements made for the celebration of the national event.
Officers present gave details of their preparations with regard to the smooth celebration of Republic Day.
The meeting was informed that the function will start with Shahnaivadan at 8:05 AM, while the National Flag will be unfurled by the chief guest at 10:05 AM.
The meeting was further informed that the main function of Republic Day will be held at District Police Lines (DPL) Kulangam Handwara, where National Flag will be unfurled and the VIP will take salute at the March past comprising the contingents of paramilitary forces, JKP, JKAP, CRPF, IRPF, BSF, SSB, Home Guards, NCC cadets and school children.
The DPO Kupwara asked all officers to work with coordination and ensure proper arrangements on ground for successful conduct of the event.
It was given out in the meeting that smooth power and water supply shall be made available at the venue, for which concerned officers were given directions on spot.
Likewise, BMO Chogal was directed to keep ambulance available at the venue, Medical Superintendent DH Handwara was asked to ensure first aid and availability of doctors at the venue, Municipality Handwara was asked to maintain proper coordination and cleanliness at the venue and Town area.
Other arrangements were also reviewed which included refreshment, reception of chief guest, transport, fire and emergency services, cultural programmes, deployment of Magistrates, distribution of invitation cards, selection of officers/officials for recognition of their extraordinary services.
The DPO asked concerned officers to ensure proper exhibition of schemes through Tableaus to showcase developmental activities of their respective departments and government schemes. He said all efforts shall be made to make the National function more attractive and informative.
The DPO directed the concerned officers to maintain proper protocol in seating arrangements. He also asked officers to ensure their presence including staff in the Republic Day functions and ensure Flag hoisting in their respective offices.
The meeting was attended by sub district level civil and police officers.
