Poonch : Deputy Commissioner Poonch Vikas Kundal on Tuesday chaired a meeting to review the implementation and achievements made under the Holistic Agriculture Development Programme (HADP) in the current financial year 2023-24.
The meeting featured comprehensive updates from stakeholder departments, including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, and Fisheries. Departmental functionaries presented detailed PowerPoint presentations showcasing program registrations, approvals, and ongoing projects.
The Deputy Commissioner asked the Chief Horticulture Officer to enhance data quality on the DAKSH portal and encourage maximum acceptance of applications under the Kisan Samridhi Abhiyan (KSA). He urged the officials to improve the registration under Kisan Sathi and increase the enrollment of farmers under KKG.
Highlighting the importance of diverse crop cultivation, the Deputy Commissioner directed the promotion of multiple crops, including pulses, kinu, and hill garlic, particularly in the Mendhar region. He also advocated for the cultivation of Rajmash in Surankote and organic clusters.

He instructed allied departments to actively promote all available schemes and proposed the establishment of a Mushroom Sale counter at prominent locations, such as the Bus Stand and near Poonch Fort. Furthermore, he urged the Agriculture Department to focus on growing till.
In a bid to streamline processes, the Deputy Commissioner directed concerned SDOs to visit bank branches to expedite the clearance of pending cases under the PM Fasal Bima Yojana.
