Srinagar : Police on Tuesday said that it has arrested two drug peddlers in Baramulla and Handwara and also recovered contraband substances from their possession.
In a statement issued from Zonal Police Headquarters Srinagar Police said that a police party of Police Station Boniyar headed by SHO Police Station Boniyar at a checkpoint established at Hundi Nowshera intercepted a suspect identified as Malik Sajad S/o Nazir Ahmad R/o Pandithpora and during search recovered 10 grams of Heroin-like substance from the possession of the said accused who was arrested and shifted to police station where he remains in custody.
Police in its statement further said that in a similar action at Handwara also a police party at a checkpoint established at Qalamabad Chowk, intercepted a suspicect identified as Javid Ahmad War S/o Gh Nabi War R/o Lach Mawar and during search recovered 25 grams of contraband Charas-like substances from his possession.
