Awareness Camps organized on PM Vishwakarma, PMEGP Schemes in Kishtwar

Kishtwar : An awareness camp and special drive to register eligible persons under PM Vishwakarma and PMEGP schemes was organized by the District Industries Centre Kishtwar under the chairmanship of General Manager Phulail Singh.
The event was held on the directions of the District Development Commissioner Rajesh Kumar Shavan and witnessed participation from the general public, craftsmen, artisans, unemployed local youth, and women. The awareness camp aimed to promote the PM Vishwakarma and PMEGP schemes among the beneficiaries and encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment.
Functional Manager Nenait Sharma and Functional Manager DIC Imtiyaz Ahmed provided detailed information about the benefits of PM Vishwakarma and PMEGP schemes. They highlighted the key features, eligibility criteria and application process for the schemes. The officers urged the public to take maximum advantage of these schemes and distributed pamphlets for wider publicity.
The PM Vishwakarma scheme aims to provide financial assistance to traditional artisans and craftsmen for upgrading their skills and equipment. The scheme provides financial assistance up to ₹2.00 lakh for purchasing equipment and raw materials.
The PMEGP scheme, on the other hand, aims to provide financial assistance to unemployed youth and traditional artisans for setting up micro-enterprises. The scheme provides for financial assistance up to ₹25.00 lakh for the manufacturing sector and ₹10.00 lakh for the service sector.
Additionally, a special camp for enrolling pottery and basket makers under PM Vishwakarma was organized by the Block Development Officer, Nagaseni, at Panchyat Dhool. The camp witnessed enthusiastic participation from the artisans and craftsmen, who were provided with on-the-spot registration and enrolment under the scheme especially potters, hammer maker, goldsmith etc
The District Industries Centre, Kishtwar, has been actively promoting the PM Vishwakarma and PMEGP schemes among artisans, craftsmen, and unemployed youth to encourage entrepreneurship and self-employment. The centre has been organizing awareness camps, interactions, and outreach to promote the schemes and provide guidance to the beneficiaries.
